Summative Assessment

This assessment will take place in small groups of 2-3 students. The students will be able to choose who they want to work with. This assessment will show me the enduring understandings that students have taken away from the unit.

Using what you know about the relationship between humans, freshwater, and the environment, create an imaginary country. Including as many details as possible, record your answers to the following questions about your country:

1.     What is your country’s name?

2.     Where does your country’s clean freshwater come from? Please note all of the sources. Compare and contrast your country’s source of freshwater to Madison’s
       source of freshwater.

3.     How do people in your country use freshwater? What uses the most freshwater? The least?

4.     How do most people in your country feel about bottled water? Why?

5.     What are some problems affecting the freshwater supply in your country?

6.     What can people do in your country to help protect its water supply?

Using the information you have established about your country, create an informational brochure, poster, skit, or video to educate the general population about your country’s freshwater situation. You should include as much as the above information as possible. Be prepared to share your project with your peers.
